This is a both yes and no answer. After the recent elections there were laws passed on budgeting. Those are the only issues that the Sheriffs department will get into with the state government. As far as the job itself, there aren't any problems really. My CP says "the law is already written" when it comes to their duties. However, there are lots of unhappy officers because now they get a chunk cut out of their pay every month, and there are some benefits they need to pay for now, which they never had to pay before.
Another issue about budget cuts is that the sheriffs know the crime rate has increased due to the cutting of manpower, and the people feel more unsafe.
