Usefulness of the CP component of this course

I believe that the CP component of this course was a very fun and useful way to incorporate what we learned in class with the real world. Interacting with my CP was definitely more meaningful because I knew what it was that I wanted to learn from them, and I knew how I wanted to involve myself in the work.

I feel that each of us in the class chose something which we somewhat could relate to, or something we were interested in and that was really awesome! I really liked the freedom that was given to us in choosing our Community partners. I feel like it would be fun too, if maybe in the future, if students were given the option to choose the same organization and be able to volunteer together or work together on this community partner. I believe it would give the outstanding benefits that the CP component provides the students, as well as give the students a chance to bond with each other or work together outside of class. 

Overall this course was extremely helpful for me because I had absolutely no idea how our local government and state level worked. Growing up in another country, I had little knowledge of how the American government system worked to begin with, aside from high school or college courses I have taken. After taking this course, I feel that I know more, down to the little details like what capacity, or gerrymandering is. 

The CP portion of this class is something I would use to encourage other students to take this course. I would definitely recommend using it in the future.
